    Power Black-Out Imminent in Parts of Lagos

    The Ikeja Electric (IE) Plc on Wednesday announced that there would be interruption of power supply for eight days in some parts of Lagos state starting from November 3 to November 10.

    The affected areas are: Mende, Anthony, Maryland, Ikeja GRA, Shonibare Estate, Part of Ojota, Ketu, Ikosi, Demurin and environs.

    Mr. Felix Ofulue, Head, Corporate Communications of Ikeja Electric stressed the need to carry out some strategic maintenance procedures in order to improve power supply necessitated the power outage which will be experienced by certain consumers.

    Ofulue stated that the rehabilitation of Maryland Injection Substation, would involve the replacement of obsolete switch gear panels at the switch room.

    “The rehabilitation will affect power supply to Mende, Anthony, Maryland, Ikeja GRA, Shonibare Estate, Part of Ojota, Ketu, Ikosi, Demurin and environs.

    “Power supply will be restored immediately after the completion of the exercise.

    “I solicit the understanding and cooperation of all our consumers that would be affected by this outage,’’ he said.

    Ofulue further assured that necessary arrangements had been made to ensure the maintenance is completed within scheduled time frame.
