In redefining higher education with a bold vision, the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Dr. Unyime Idem has announced a massive scholarship programme for his constituents studying in Nigerian Federal universities.
The scheme, sponsored by Unyime Idem Education Scholarship Programme, is targeting 200 undergraduates, Masters and Ph.D. students for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The initiative is designed for indigent but brilliant students to further cement the lawmaker’s growing reputation as a champion of human capital development.

applicants must come from Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency.
According to the release, the programme is for undergraduates, Masters and Ph.D. students studying in Nigerian Federal universities studying the following courses;
– Sciences
– Engineering
– Economics
– Accounting
– Law
– Computer Science/Engineering.
It states ”applicants should take note of the following: Scholarship status is full – covering tuition, allowances for living expenses and accommodation.
Only full-time students can apply, as part-time students are NOT eligible.”
For undergraduate applicants, the release states that ”Undergraduate applicants must be from 200 Level and above, requesting undergraduate applicants to submit the following documents:
– Evidence of statement of WAEC/SSCE/NECO results with at least 5 credits, including English Language and Mathematics (not more than 2 sittings).
– Letter of admission into the University.
– Valid student Identity Card.
– Last school fee receipt.
– First (or preceding) year academic transcript(s) duly signed and stamped by HOD/Exams Officer or any authorized staff.
– Certificate of indigene-ship (evidence of state of origin and local government).
– NIN card or slip.
– Personal statement of a minimum of 1000 words stating reasons for undertaking the course of study.
For Masters applicants, it requests ”Applicants must possess full time admission letter into any of the Federal Universities.
Valid student Identity Card.
– Last school fee receipt.
– A minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2)
A Second Class Upper (2:1) has advantage.
– Possess at least 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO results (not more than 2 sittings and the two results must precede the first degree).
– National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate or Letter of exemption.
– Certificate of indigene-ship (evidence of state of origin and local government).
– NIN card or slip.
– Personal statement of a minimum of 1000 words stating reasons for undertaking the course of study.
For Ph.D. applicants, applicants must possess full time admission letter into any of the Federal Universities.
– A minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2)
A Second Class Upper (2:1) has advantage.
Valid student Identity Card.
– Last school fee receipt.
– A minimum of merit in a second-degree certificate.
– Possess at least 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO results (not more than 2 sittings and the two results must precede the first degree)
– National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate or Letter of exemption.
– Certificate of indigene-ship (evidence of state of origin and local government).
– NIN card or slip.
– Research area must be relevant.
– Ph.D research proposal of not more than 6 pages.

”Applicants should submit all listed documents in an envelope at Unyime Idem Skills Acquisition Centre, No. 3 Barracks Road, Ukanafun Local Government Area.
It notes that though ”application opens on 29th March, 2026, deadline for submission of application is 12th April, 2026.
