The members in the House of Representatives, Dr. Unyime Idem has thrown weight behind a representation that delivers tangible projects and programmes, which touch lives, create opportunities and leave lasting footprints in the communities.

Idem, who is representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in the House, stated this Saturday during the inauguration of an ultra-modern six-classroom building he constructed and furnished for QIC Central School, Ikot Akpa Nkuk in Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom.

Apart from serving as a centre of learning for generations of pupils, the school, for decades, serves as a rallying point for political, religious and other social activities across the Federal Constituency .

He said ‘‘It is therefore particularly meaningful to me that we are able to give this important institution a modern learning environment that reflects its significance to our people.

‘‘This is an investment in the future of our children and another demonstration of my firm belief that education remains one of the most powerful pathways to transforming lives and building stronger communities.’’

According to him, the new six-classroom facility has been constructed and fully furnished to provide our pupils and teachers with a more conducive environment for teaching and learning. I am confident that generations of children who pass through these classrooms will benefit from this intervention.

‘‘This project is also a fulfilment of a promise I made to my people. I have always believed that our representation must translate into tangible projects and programmes that touch lives, create opportunities and leave lasting footprints in our communities.

One week ago, Idem inaugurated similar educational projects at Western Annang Secondary Commercial School (WASCO), Ukanafun.

The National Assemblyman noted that this was the beginning, assuring that ‘‘In the coming weeks and months, we will commission more educational infrastructure projects across our constituency.

Represented at the former member of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Saturday Akpan, the Ukanafun-born Lawmaker commended the Head Teacher, teachers, stakeholders, community leaders and Ikot Akpa Nkuk people for their warm reception and support.

‘‘My commitment remains unwavering: to provide purposeful representation, attract meaningful development and deliver projects that have direct and lasting impact on the lives of our people,’’ he added.
