Rivers United have been ranked as the best team in the Nigeria, according to Professional Football League by statistics website, Opta.
The statistics and analytics medium released the rankings for clubs across the continent.
According to Opta the clubs were ranked by “Elo algorithm” used to analyse match results from over 2,500,000 games.
Rivers United are ranked 30th on the continent.
Reigning NPFL champions Enyimba are the second best team from Nigeria, and they sit in 62nd position.
Akwa United are 82nd, Plateau United 101st, and Bendel Insurance 199th.
South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroccan sides, Wydad Casablanca and FAR Rabat, top the rankings on the continent.
