    Senator Ekong donates N210m to AKSU and Akwa Ibom South Law students

    In support of education project fund,  Senator Ekong Sampson, representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, has donated ₦210 million to Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) and Akwa Ibom South students studying at the Nigerian Law School.
    This shows that Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) and Akwa Ibom South students studying at the Nigerian Law School from the Senatorial district got N200 million and ₦10 million grants respectfully.
    Senator Sampson, who announced this during a special ceremony at the Shakespeare Hall of Watbridge Hotel, Uyo, said the ₦200 million was for intervention projects to be approved by the university management to advancing education and human capital development in the state.
    “Today, I am presenting a ₦200 million project support fund to Akwa Ibom State University. Within that financial framework, the university can execute projects that will enhance learning and development.

    “I have been doing a lot of things quietly. I want to extend my support to Akwa Ibom State University. We have sponsored several educational initiatives and provided support for institutions. Today, I am extending the same gesture to AKSU,” he said.
    Presenting the framework to the Vice Chancellor of AKSU, Professor Otoabasi Akpan, Senator Sampson described the intervention as a strategic investment in the future of young people.
    According to him, the support is intended to reduce the financial burden associated with legal education and encourage aspiring lawyers to pursue their professional goals without undue hardship.
    “The intervention is to ease the financial burden and support our young scholars as they pursue the noble path of the legal profession,” he said.
    The spokesperson of the Senator Ekong Sampson Campaign Organization, Mr. Nkeruwem James, commended the lawmaker for what he described as outstanding performance over the past three years, particularly in the areas of education, infrastructure, and empowerment.
    In goodwill messages, the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Ekaette Obot, represented by Chief Magistrate, Chinonye Akpanika; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, represented by former Commissioner of the Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission, Dr. Tommy Enodien, among others, for love for education.
