    Soludo wins 17 of 21 LGAs in Anambra gov election- INEC

    The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, candidate, Charles Soludo has won in 17 out of 21 local government areas in the Anambra governorship election, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced.

    The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with the development, is moving closer to being officially declared as the winner of the 2021 Anambra governorship election.

    In the result of Anambra West, which was announced by the INEC returning officer, Dr German Anagbogu, the APC got 1,233, PDP got 1,401 while APGA won with 1,918.

    So far, the APGA candidate has won in Dunukofia, Awka North, Awka South, Oyi, Ayamelum, Anaocha, Anambra East, Idemili North, Idemili South, Onitsha North, Onitsha South, Njikoka, Nnewi South, Anambra West, Aguata, Orumba South and Ekwusigo local government areas.

    The governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), Ifeanyi Uba, and Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have won one LGA each while the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Andy Uba is yet to win any LGA.

    Ozigbo won Ogbaru LGA while Uba won in Nnewi North.

    The State returning officer and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi said: “We are going to discuss one of the local governments (Orumba North), then in Ihiala there was no election at all. We will take a break now and come back.”
