A 35-year-old commercial driver, suspected to have raped an undergraduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife, Osun state, weekend, vowed to harm anyone who rapes any of his daughters.

Waheed Yusuf, the father of three with two wives, and paraded by the Ondo state police command fingered “Satan” for his devilish act of raping a 28-year-old undergraduate.

He said he would “deal ruthlessly” with anyone, who does same to any of his daughters.

When asked what he would do if anyone rapes her daughter, he flared up saying” I will not take it lightly; I will not only harm the person but deal ruthlessly with him.”

He said someone somewhere in Osun state, who was not comfortable with his progress in life, must have cast a spell on him to commit the error.

Waheed, however, pleaded that he should be given the second chance been the first time he would commit such crime.

Briefing newsmen in Akure, Femi Joseph, Ondo State Police Image maker, said that suspect committed the crime at about 8p.m. on February 25, this year.

Joseph said the suspect picked the victim from Agbogbo area in Akure to Ile- Ife in Osun state.

“On getting to Ile- Ife other passengers alighted from the vehicle and when the suspect noticed that it was the victim that was left in the vehicle, he drove her into the bush where he raped her after threatening her with a knife,” the police image maker said.

The suspect allegedly dispossessed the undergraduate of her valuables like Infinix handset, Huwawei IPad and N4,000.

Joseph said that the victim, who sensed that her life was in danger played along and later, reported the incident to the police.

Police detectives, according to him, swung into action on receiving the information and tracked the suspect to Ogun state where the victim’s phone was recovered from him before he was arrested.

He was said to have inserted his Sim card into the telephone he stole from the undergraduate.

Joseph said “a search warrant was executed in the house of the suspect and one flash drive with the iPad cover belonging to the victim was recovered from suspect.

The suspect, according to the police spokesperson, has confessed to the crime upon investigation and blamed the devil. He will soon charge him to court.
