As The Apostolic Church Nigeria clocks 100 years, Rev. Isaac Omotosho, the Jalingo District Pastor of the church, Sunday, tasked the church members to fully participate in politics in order to help correct the societal ills.
Omotosho, who gave the charge during the centenary anniversary celebration of the church in Jalingo, explained that praying for the right leaders without exercising franchise during the 2019 elections was an aberration.
He said that the church had a role to play in getting rid of bad elements in the nation’s political space, irrespective of religious affiliation.
“Prayers without action is meaningless. But when we pray and vote for the right person God himself will be delighted in us.
“We cannot keep folding our hands and praying all the time when our votes can change the fortunes of Nigeria if given to the right person, to displace politicians that have been holding the nation to ransom,” the cleric admonished.
He urged the congregation to lead by example by upholding the truth, which according to him, is the fulcrum for the progress of a nation.
The cleric said that the church had established many schools across the country in its 100 years of existence in Nigeria.
He said that church was established 1918 and currently has a population of 4.5 million people with 1,693 districts in all the nooks and crannies of the country.
The high-point of the service was cutting of the centenary anniversary cake to mark the event. (NAN)
