Mohamed Salah is one of the most feared players on the planet right now.

The Egyptian arrived at Anfield in the summer after a successful stint in Serie A with The Reds’ Champions League semi-final opponents, Roma.

Salah single-handedly sent Egypt to the World Cup back in November and has been sensational for Liverpool in both Europe and the Premier League.

The 25 year old has scored 40 goals for Liverpool so far this season in all competitions with 30 of those coming in the Premier League.

Harry Kane, who has won the Golden Boot in each of the last two seasons, has never scored 30 goals in a single season.

However, Salah has out-scored a long list of footballing legends.

However, Salah has out-scored a long list of footballing legends.

Mo Salah has already beaten the best goal scoring seasons of all of the footballing legends in the above graphic, a remarkable achievement especially considering Salah isn’t even a striker.

Wayne Rooney never scored more than 34 goals in a single season for Manchester United whereas Didier Drogba never recorded more than 37.

    Premier League record incoming?

Andy Cole and Alan Shearer both scored 34 goals in a single season when the Premier League had 22 teams, whilst Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez have all scored 31 goals in a single season since the Premier League was reduced to 20 teams.

Salah needs just 2 goals to surpass the 20-team record and 5 to beat the 22-team one. The Egyptian has 4 league games left to play.

Salah’s last four league games are as follows:

    West Brom (a)
    Stoke City (h)
    Chelsea (a)
    Brighton (h)

Three of the four remaining fixtures left waiting for Salah and his Liverpool team-mates come against teams in the bottom half of the table.

Salah has already broken two Premier League records this season. The former Chelsea man has scored in 22 league fixtures, more than any other player has previously managed whilst he has also been named as the player of the month three times this term, the most ever awarded to a single player over the course of one season.
