The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, has expelled Goddy-Mbakwe, Chiamaka Precious after fighting Dr Chukwudi Michael Okoye, a lecturer at the institution, in a video that went viral.

According to a statement released by Unizik, Precious’ expulsion takes effect immediately.

Recall that the student had engaged in a physical altercation with a lecturer who interrupted her while she was recording a dance video for Tik Tok.

The lecturer, who needed to pass, tapped her on the back to get her attention and signal her to stop recording.

Subsequent reports suggest that the lecturer requested the student to delete the recording, as his face had been captured in the video.

However, the situation quickly escalated, leading to a violent exchange in which the student allegedly bit the lecturer multiple times.

While the lecturer attempted to restrain her by holding her hands, witnesses claim she became aggressive, tearing his clothes, slapping him, and scratching his face.

The statement reads: “The Management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, wishes to update the public on the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings regarding the recent incident involving Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye, a lecturer the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies.

“1. The actors involved were given a fair hearing by the Students Disciplinary Committee. After a thorough review by the Committee (SDC), the act committed by Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, a 300-level student in the Department of History and International Studies, was deemed a gross misconduct and a violation of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Students Disciplinary Regulations , particularly Regulation 4 (SDR).

“2. Based on the Committe’s findings and recommendations, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof , Joseph I. Ikechebelu, on behalf of the University Senate, has approved the immediate expulsion of Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka,

“3. She is required to vacate the University premises immediately and return all University property in her possession.

“4. The University Management, under the leadership of Prof , Joseph I. Ikechebelu, remains committed to maintaining the integrity of the institution by upholding discipline, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for learning, and fostering the development of scholars and leaders in character and excellence.”
