Some unknown gunmen, Sunday, abducted the founder of Southern Atlantic Polytechnic, and proprietor of Akpabiosm Centre of Learning, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State.

The gunmen reportedly kidnapped Pastor Bassey James from the Polytechnic premises along Victor Attah International Airport Road, Uyo at about 9 p.m.

A source close to school said the gunmen came in a grey color Lexus jeep and shot severally into the air to scare away people.

After the shooting, they dragged the prorprietor into their car and sped off from the premises, the source stated.

Confirming the incident, DSP Odiko McDon, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said the police are closing in on the abductors, assuring that soon he would regain freedom.
