The Uyo people under the umbrella of Uyo Senatorial District Elders Forum (USDEF) and Uyo Senatorial Mandate Group (USMG) have described as appalling the mass disruption of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) works by Akwa Ibom government.
In statement jointly signed by the chairman of USDEF, Otuekong Sunny Jackson and president of USMG, Ntufam Akan Okon, they decried the antagonistic posture of Governor Udom Emmanuel toward the execution of some strategic interventionist and grassroot-based projects by NDDC particularly in Uyo Senatorial District.
The groups particularly condemned the retrogressive stance coordinated and executed by the Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Works, Ephraim Inyang-eyen who has widely reported by both the print and social media to have physically attacked and chased away NDDC contractors.
They argued that the governor and his cohorts have disrupted the execution of life-touching projects in Eket Senatorial District where they hail from rather in Uyo Senatorial District, calling for restraint and understanding between both parties in the overall development of the state.
