Professor Wole Soyinka, the Nobel Laurette, has been decorated as the Super Marshall of the Ogun State Amotekun Corps.
Governor Dapo Abiodun decorated Soyinka when he inaugurated the State Amotekun Corps in Abeokuta on Thursday.
At the occasion, Abiodun also commissioned patrol vehicles and motorbikes for the security outfit.
The Deputy Governor, Naimot Salako-Oyedele; the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.
The Ogun State Amotekun Corps is headed by a retired Commissioner of Police, David Akinremi.
Amotekun was founded on January 9, 2020 in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria as the first regional security outfit initiated by South-West geopolitical zone.
