A 15-year-old housemaid allegedly thrown out from a two-storey building in Surelere, Lagos State Sunday is battling to survive.

The guardian (name withheld) had accused the girl, Deborah Mathew of stealing her money and jewelries worth N1 million and threatened to deal with her if she did not return them.

Vanguard gathered that the suspect beat the girl blue-and-black before she threw her from the balcony of the two-storey building without minding the consequences.

The girl, who sustained serious injury on her forehead, was said to have been rescued by some residents and was rushed to Ikeja General Hospital.

The police at Ijeshatedo Police Division have arrested and detained the suspect policemen at Ijeshatedo police division.

According to a police source, some angry residents almost lynched the woman before she was rescued by policemen, who arrived at the scene on time and whisked her away in their vehicle.

Olarinde Famous-Cole, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), who confirmed the incident, said the housemaid was never thrown out from the upstairs.

“It was just a case of assault from her boss, who accused her of stealing something from her room, and she is receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Ikeja, where she was rushed to.”
