Two suspects found to be in possession of a decomposing human head in Mbak Itam, Itu Local Government Area by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Akwa Ibom State are in police custody for interrogation.

The suspsects are Ini Ime Effiong, the driver of the vehicle and self-confessed Prophet Israel Effiong Okon, the fleeing passenger with the decomposing head.

Mr. Sunday Oghenekaro, the Sector Commander of the Corps, stated this to newsmen in Uyo on Tuesday, said his corps initially apprehended a Toyota fore-runner jeep (black) with Registration number DX 147 LSD for  the driver’s failure to use seat belt.

Oghenekaro remarked that the driver disregarded hand signal and tried to escape, thereby committing other offences, according to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

He said after stopping the driver for making some dare-devil attempts, they found a human head in his vehicle.

“When we stopped the vehicle, a passenger in the vehicle rushed out of the vehicle, picked a bag and attempted to flee, but the agile Marshals pursued him. When he stumbled and fell, the marshals with the assistance of a policeman present at the Mobile Court, apprehended the fleeing passenger in the vehicle.

“On a careful examination into the bag, we discovered a decomposing human head and at this point the man became aggressive and wild,” Oghenekaro confirmed.

The sector commander said the vehicle is in FRSC custody.
