A 37-year-old man, arrested by the Abia State Police Command, is in the doghouse for allegedly engaging in “unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor.”
Anumudu Chigozie, who is a resident of Umuobiokwa village, was alleged to have previously worked as an On-Air Personality (OAP) with a media house in the state.
Chigozie was arrested by men of the Eastern Ngwa Division of the Abia State Police Command, following a report lodged against him on January 1, 2024.
Although details of his arrest and his offence have not been made known, the PPRO of the Abia Command, ASP Maureen Chioma Chinaka who confirmed the development, said that the matter would be charged to Court after a discreet investigation.
Chinaka, while confirming the arrest of the suspect said: “Abia State Police Command received a report on January 1, 2024, of an alleged incident of unlawful carnal knowledge by Mr. Anumudu Chigozie, a 37-year-old resident of Umuobiakwa Village in Eastern Ngwa Division.

“Mr. Chigozie was accused of engaging in unlawful carnal knowledge with a minor (Name withheld). Discreet Investigation is ongoing and the matter will be charged to Court.”
Recall that some Abia-based media organizations recently reported that the victim of the alleged defilement is a 15-year-old teenager.
