    SUBEB Opens Begins 1,000 Teachers Recruitment for Akwa Ibom Public Basic Schools

    The State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has opened portal for recruitment of 1,000 qualified teachers to fill vacancies in public primary and junior secondary schools in Akwa Ibom.

    The Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Rt. Hon. Anietie Etuk, who made the announcement in a press release, said the recruitment exercise is aimed at improving the teacher-pupil ratio, enhancing learning outcomes and strengthening the delivery of quality basic education in line with the State Government’s ARISE Agenda.

    Straightnews gathered from certified and registered educators that there are about 19,812 registered professional teachers in Akwa Ibom 1,144 public primary schools across the state’s 31 local government areas.

    According to the Board, the recruitment process will be transparent, merit based and open exclusively to qualified indigenes of Akwa Ibom State.

    The Board directed interested applicants to submit their applications online through the ARISE Youth Employment Portal, saying that the application portal opened on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, and will close on Friday, July 31, 2026.

    It further stated that applicants must possess any of the following qualifications from recognised institutions: Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A. Ed), or Bachelor of Science in Education (B.Sc. Ed).

    SUBEB added that only shortlisted candidates would be invited to participate in a Computer-Based Test (CBT), which will serve as the next stage of the recruitment process.

    The Board urged qualified applicants to take advantage of the opportunity as part of the government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector through the recruitment of competent teaching personnel across public basic schools in the state.
