Who Is a Peaceful Person?- Mgbe
A US-based Lady, Dr. Sandra Duru popularly known as Mgbe defines ”A peaceful person is not just someone who avoids conflict, but someone who confronts injustice with wisdom, restraint, and principle.
Reacting to the conferment of International Peace Award on Akpabio in her social media, Druru said ”A man or woman of peace doesn’t shout to be heard in chaos. They walk the path of truth, legality, and due process, even when falsely accused or unfairly judged by the noisy courtroom of public opinion. They don’t chase validation through propaganda, nor seek shortcuts through the back door of influence. Instead, they anchor themselves in truth, letting time, facts, and providence speak for them.
”A peaceful person doesn’t take laws into their own hands, no matter the provocation. When persecuted, blackmailed, misunderstood, or misrepresented, they respond not with drama, noise, anger, or bitterness, but with emotional intelligence, strategic calm, and unshakable dignity.
”They are not found hopping from TV studio to press conference, wailing about their glaring innocence or staging theatrics to gain public sympathy. No, they let integrity fight for them. They are God-fearing, quietly confident, and rooted in humility, because they know truth doesn’t need a megaphone; it only needs time and light.
”Today, we celebrate one such man.
”Congratulations to the President of the Senate, H.E. Dr. Godswill Obot Akpabio, on your well-deserved 2025 International Peace Award. The world is watching, and the world has spoken.”
According to her, ”While others chose noise, you chose nobility. While others pushed narratives, you pushed forward with grace. The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the United Nations, and the international community have seen through the smoke screens of propaganda, and what they found was a man of peace, process, and principle.
”You didn’t speak too much. But your silence, composure, and results spoke volumes.
”Peace is not passivity, it’s power under control.
”This award isn’t just a medal; it’s a message to all leaders that character still counts. That noise is not leadership. And that in the end, truth always rises.”
