Suspected robbers in the early hours of Tuesday raided 10 houses in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina, a source has said.  The source who did not want his name in print said the robbers stormed the area and shot sporadically. Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have intercepted a commercial bus at Isiokpo area of Rivers State and whisked away more than 20 occupants of the vehicle.  The bus branded ‘’Rivers Mass Transit Company’’ was said to be travelling from Port Harcourt to Owerri, Imo State, before it was stopped by the bandits at Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area.  “The 18-seater bus had loaded at Agip and Whimpy on Ikwerre Road”, a driver, who went through the same spot and narrowly escaped the incident stated. A professor at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), has warned that the Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) has been found in the throat of people engaging in oral sex.  Professor Adegboyega Fawole, who is of the Department of Gynaecology, UITH, told NAN in Ilorin on Tuesday that HPV was mostly sexually transmitted.  Fawole said the virus caused almost all cases of cervical cancer and could cause genital warts and anal cancer.  “Oral sex has been linked with an increased risk of acquiring HPV infection in the mouth and with an increased risk of developing oral cancers that are caused…

Eleven suspected armed robbers and cult members have been arrested in different locations in Ondo State by police detectives.  Five of the armed robbery suspects were caught wearing military camouflage to rob their victims.  Also, four of the suspected cult members are members of the dreaded Eiye Fraternity that participated in the killing of other members of different cult gangs in the state in recent time.  They include lsiaka Kareem, Olabode Ayobami, Ebenezer Akinkuolu and Joseph Esie. Police have arrested two suspected kidnappers along the Adani/Nimbo axis in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State where hoodlums have continued to abduct travellers and rape women almost on a daily basis. Policemen in South Africa have allegedly tortured Clement Ofoma, a Nigerian based in the country, to death.  The Nigerian community in South Africa confirmed the killing Wednesday, saying it occurred at Springs town, near Johannesburg.  Ofoma, 35, a native of Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra, was a businessman based in the town. A robbery suspect, Azeez Folarin, has narrated how his house furnished with the proceeds of crime was burgled in Ibadan and the items carted away by thieves who apparently had no respect for one of their own.  The 25-year-old suspect, popularly known as IPad, said he had been operating in the underworld for over two years and belonged to a robbery gang operating in Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo states.
