The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that the incumbent Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, is the state’s governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 elections. Tambuwal finished second behind Atiku Abubakar, who emerged the party presidential candidate at its Convention held in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State on October 6. The Zamfara twins named as Hassana and Hussaina have been released by their abductors. Zamfara State said to be the home state of Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd), the Minister of Interior, is described as the hotbed of kidnappings. He is Edidem Solomon D. Etuk who is also the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium local government area. The Courier Regulatory Department of the Nigerian Postal Service has revoked licences of 30 courier companies in the country. By this, 78 financially healthy ones are remaining.
