President Muhammadu Buhari, Tuesday, reiterated Federal Government’s determination to prosecute perpetrators of violence that recently erupted in Kaduna State. Buhari spoke at a meeting with religious and traditional rulers in the state when he visited Kaduna to condole residents on the recent violent incidence. Senator Shehu Sani using allegory has condemned the Federal Government’s planned sale of national assets to finance the deficit of 2018 budget. Sani representing Kaduna South said “To sell your national assets to fund budget is to sell your intestines and bladder in order to be able to buy food.” Recall that Mr. Ben Akabueze who is the Director General of the Budget Office had on November 27, last year affirmed that the Federal Government has finalised plans to sell some National assets to generate revenue for annual budgets between 2018 and 2020. Mr. Akabueze explained that the country was not…
For the second in one year, Julen Lopetegui, Real Madrid’s coach has lost his plum job after humiliating defeat of his team by the rival Barcelona FC on Sunday. On June 13, two days before the start of the World Cup in Russia, Lopetegui, the Spanish coach was fired from the team for accepting the invitation of Real Madrid to replace Zinedine Zidane. Spain ended up training in the World Cup by Fernando Hierro, assistant of Lopetegui, and, without brilliance, was eliminated in the eighth of end by the host Russia, in the dispute of penalties. The 5-1 defeat against…
President Donald Trump offered a dramatic, if legally dubious, promise to unilaterally end birthright citizenship, ratcheting up his hardline immigration rhetoric with a week to go before critical midterm elections. A report by CNN says Trump’s vow to end the right to citizenship for the children of non-citizens and unauthorized immigrants born on US soil came in an interview with Axios released Tuesday. Such a step would be regarded as an affront to the US Constitution, which was amended 150 years ago to include the words: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction…

In a report presented at its National Conference on Remedial Issues in Abuja, NEITI stated that Nigeria lost $3.038 billion and N60.997 billion from crude oil production, production and transportation, while unreconciled differences arising from the allocation, sale and remittance of proceeds from domestic crude oil allocated to the NNPC amounted to N317.475…
Two weeks after abandoning his party, Senator Shehu Sani has launched ferocious attack by predicting doom for his estranged All Progressives Congress, APC in the forthcoming elections. Sani, who left APC after failing to get the party’s Senate ticket for Kaduna Central Senatorial District and joining Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, urged the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio who recently joined APC to return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. The All Progressives Congress, APC, has dismissed claims by Senator Abba Bukar Ibrahim that the North East could turn its back on the party and President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming elections, if the party failed to entrench good governance in the region. National Vice Chairman of the party in the North East, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, told Vanguard in an interview that the claim as enunciated by Senator Ibrahim was his personal opinion, saying the people of the region knew where their hearts laid. Ibrahim, a three-term governor of Yobe State and a three-term senator had at the launch of…
