The Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, Olufemi Olaleye, has been jailed for life over defilement of his wife’s niece. The Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja, sentenced Olaleye and he could be seen in a captured video being escorted out of the court premises by correctional officers to the prison. The presiding Judge Rahman Oshodi, on Tuesday, October 24, found Olaleye guilty of the offence of defilement and sexual penetration of a 15-year-old girl. Liberian President George Weah faces a November 14 run-off vote after edging out his main rival by less than half a percent in the first round, the National Electoral Commission said Tuesday announcing final results. Rivers State High Court judge, Eberechi Wike, has advocated the amputation of people found guilty of defiling minors. Justice Wike, who is the wife of the immediate past Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, stated this on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 2nd National Conference of Family Court Judges, Magistrates, and other Family Court Practitioners in Port Harcourt, the state capital. The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in the appeal by Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court which affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the February 25 presidential election. President Bola Tinubu and Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi,  Monday hailed United Kingdom’s Court judgment awarding a landmark victory to the Federal Government of Nigeria over a firm known as Process & Industrial Development (P&ID) Limited. The Commercial Courts of England and Wales Monday ruled in favour of Nigeria in the enforcement of a $11bn arbitration award against Process & Industrial Developments (P&ID) Limited. With the judgement handed down physically in open court, and electronically by email to the parties on Monday, Nigeria has succeeded in stopping the enforcement of the award which was initially in favour of P&ID.
