The federal government is alleged to have reneged payment of the first tranche amounting to N70 billion to Akwa Ibom government on the repairs of federal roads in the state. Akwa Ibom government has donated N200 million for the renovation of Wellington Bassey Barracks, Ibagwa in Abak local government area of the state. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has announced a grant of N500 million for the newly established Pamo University of Medical Sciences to support the development of the school and its students.
