Armed rebels killed at least 41 people and abducted six others during an attack in a school in western Uganda, Uganda’s military said. “Twenty were hacked by pangas (machetes) and 17 were burnt when dormitories were set on fire,” spokesman Felix Kulayigye told CNN. Nigeria has notched another milestone to fast track completion of the $25 billion Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline Project. This came as the Federal Government signed four significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) related to the project at the headquarters of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Lawmakers of Ijaw extraction, in the National Assembly under the aegis of the Ijaw Legislators Forum have protested the alleged remapping of some local government areas in Akwa Ibom State at the twilight of the past administration in the state. A former militant leader in the Niger Delta, Asari Dokubo, on Friday, blamed the military officers of perpetrating 90 per cent of crude oil theft in the Niger Delta. Dokubo, who spoke with State House correspondents after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, accused them of complicity in the oil theft in the Niger Delta.
