The Rivers State police Thursday detained and drilled the alleged murderer of a 300-level Biochemistry student of the University of Port Harcourt, one Justina Otuene. The suspect, Demain Okoligwe, a 400-level student of the same institution said to be Otuene’s boyfriend was apprehended while he wanted to dispose her remains after allegedly killing and harvesting her eyes and breasts. The Akwa Ibom Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS) has shut three banks in the state over failure to remit outstanding tax liabilities of N228,684 million to the State Government. A businesswoman has been strangled to death by unknown assailants in her home in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. The Medical Director of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, Olufemi Olaleye, has been jailed for life over defilement of his wife’s niece. The Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja, sentenced Olaleye and he could be seen in a captured video being escorted out of the court premises by correctional officers to the prison.
