A retired Permanent Secretary in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ignatius Brown, abducted by some unknown gunmen two weeks ago, has regained freedom, police have confirmed to Straightnews. Brown was kidnapped on Sunday, October 31 at his Abak residence shortly after he returned from church service. The Federal High Court, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, Monday, nullified the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election of Akan Udofia. The election of the billionaire philanthropist said to have been held at 6 Ekpo Obot Street, Uyo on May 26, 2022 was, at the beginning, rejected by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for inability of the party to have invited the body for monitoring. A 14-year-old from Nigeria’s Plateau State emerged champion at this year’s edition of the Lagos Women Run on Saturday. While Maisaje Vera-Yohanna won the Open race, another Plateau State athlete, Elizabeth Nuhu, claimed the top prize in the veterans’ category.
