A 17-year-old marriage between a former banker and his wife has been dissolved by Akwa Ibom State High Court in Uyo. The court presided over by Justice Ntong Ntong dissolved the marriage Friday and awarded primary custody of the two female children of the union to their mother. A 48-year-old banker who is the estranged husband had petitioned the court praying it to dissolve the union on grounds that there was no more love and that the marriage had broken down irretrievably. Contrary to reports in some social media that embattled Professor Cyril Ndifon, the former dean of the University of Calabar’s Faculty of Law was kidnapped, the Department of State Services has cleared the air that the don was in their custody. Two brothers in Akwa Ibom State will die by hanging for killing a farmer over a parcel of land, High Court has ruled. The convicted are 48-year-old Uduak Udo Umoren, a pastor and motorcyclist and 34-year-old Emmanuel Udo Umoren, a farmer and panel beater, both indigenes of Adiasim Ikot Ekon Village in Essien Udim Local Government Area.
