Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has filed a lawsuit against the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan and the Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila over their failure to cut National Assembly budget of N228.1 billion. A statement on Sunday by SERAP’s Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare, said the suit followed the move by the National Assembly to increase its 2023 budget from N169 billion proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari to N228.1 billion. Nigerian billionaire, Dozy Mmobuosi, is reportedly set to buy Sheffield United for £90 million (N50.6 billion). Ahead of the 2023 general election, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has excluded lawyers belonging to Akwa Ibom State branch, South-south Nigeria, from joining its monitoring team. No fewer than 59 people, including 27 police officials were killed when a bomber on a suicide mission blew himself up inside a crowded mosque in a highly fortified security compound in Pakistan on Monday.
