The shrinking value of the Nigerian naira and currencies of most developing economies are could deepen the food and energy crises in the country, according to the World Bank’s latest Commodity Markets Outlook report. Nigerian authors and publishers are enjoined to publish more in indigenous languages to avoid extinction of the languages. The Chief Executive Officer of National Library of Nigeria, Professor Chinwe V. Kidnap activities in Nigeria’s Akwa Ibom have taken a frightening dimension following the abduction of a retired Permanent Secretary in the state, Mr Ignatius Brown. The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Obong Umana Umana, last Friday, terminated N300 billion contracts awarded by the sacked interim Sole Administrator of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Effiong Akwa. As Nigerian music prodigy, Davido and his partner, Chioma have lost their three-year-old son, Ifeanyi, Lagos police have arrested domestic staffers for interrogation. According to reports widely published in major news outlets, Ifeanyi drowned in a swimming pool at his residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State. One person survived and 13 passengers were, Sunday, roasted in auto crash which occurred near the Four-Corners, Enugu at 9 p.m. The ill-fated 14-seater bus said to be traveling from Imo State to Adamawa reportedly ran into a trailer before it went up in flames.
