The campaign trail of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, was allegedly attacked on Wednesday in Maiduguri by suspected thugs, resulting in the no fewer than 74 persons hospitalised. Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platforms Inc, said on Wednesday that it will let go of 13 percent of its workforce, or more than 11,000 employees. The Supreme Court has dismissed the case of Mr. Aniekan Etim, one of the governorship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State. The Federal High Court, Abuja, Tuesday, ordered the committal of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, to prison over contempt. Facebook-parent Meta will become the latest tech firm to scale back its workforce, with plans to lay off thousands of employees this week, the United States media reported Sunday. Akwa Ibom State floored two major African cities to host a permanent Africa Regional Office complex of a 10,000-capacity International Conference Centre, courtesy of International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI).
