The headless body of a former member of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nelson Emeka Achukwu, has been discovered. The body was recovered two weeks after Achukwu was abducted from his residence in in Ukpor, Nnewi South local government area of Anambra State. A family member said they did not believe that he would be killed after a N15 million naira ransom was paid to his abductors. Popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke also known as Davido, has given a five-year scholarship to a brilliant Ghanaian student to study in Adeleke University, Ede in Osun State. The student, Morro Suleyman, who scored A1 parallel in the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in 2021, was unable to proceed to the University level due to financial reasons. Davido who stumbled on the report in the social media pages launched a search for him. Prices of selected food items in Nigeria have risen as Akwa Ibom recorded the highest in yam tuber in May, National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said. It made the declaration in its Selected Food Prices Watch Report for May released in Abuja on Wednesday. The Nigerian Senate has waded into the feud between the Chief Justice of the Nigeria, Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed and the 14 Supreme Court Justices over welfare issues.
