Nigerian Adijat Olarinoye won a Gold medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham under the women’s weightlifting event on Sunday morning, July 31. Contesting in the 55kg category, Olarinoye lifted a combined total of 203kg, a games record to win the women’s 55kg Weightlifting event. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced when Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) would be available for collection by Nigerians. INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, said PVCs for persons captured in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) in the country would be ready between October and November. The Federal Government is set to implement five per cent inclusive excise duty on telecommunications services in Nigeria, a move that will make Nigerians pay 12.5 per cent tax on telecommunications services.
