US President Joe Biden has signed an order to provide up to $600 million (£448m) in “immediate military assistance’’ to Ukraine, as Russia wages war against the country. Ukraine is under Russian invasion for the third day on Saturday, with no signs of talks between Moscow and Kyiv to resolve the conflict. Biden instructed secretary of state, Antony Blinken to release up to $350 million “in defence articles and services of the Department of Defense, and military education and training” under the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961. Four internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Boys have been convicted and sentenced to one-year imprisonment in Calabar, Cross River State capital. The convicts who are Bassey Solomon Samuel, Bassey Ubong John, Eyo Nsikan and Nzeakor Uchenna were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Uyo Zonal Command. The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is yet to decide the zone in the South to produce its presidential candidate during the 2023 general elections. The Chairman of Ini Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom, Israel Idaisin, was docked over an alleged falsification of age that qualified him for public office. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have confirmed arrest of Marlian singers Zinoleesky and Mohbad after a midnight raid on their residence in Lagos.
