The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has indicated its readiness to hold a nationwide protest on February 1, 2022 against Federal Government’s plan to remove fuel subsidy. The decision is contained in a communique issued on Friday in Abuja and signed by NLC President, Ayuba Wabba and General Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, after the NEC meeting. Federal, states and local governments collected N675.946 billion from the Federation Allocation Account Committee (FAAC) for November on Friday. Mr Olajide Oshundun, acting Director, Information, Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning stated this on Saturday in Abuja. The Federal Government received N261.441 billion of the money, while states and local councils got N210.046 billion and N155.456 billion, respectively. The ex-parte orders were issued during the leadership crisis of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and on candidacy controversies ahead of the Anambra governorship election.
