Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly abducted more than 17 girls in a fresh attack carried out in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State. According to SaharaReporters, 25 girls were initially abducted by the terrorists however eight escaped leaving 17 in captivity. The insurgents broke into the town on Thursday night after shooting in different directions, causing the residents to run helter-skelter for safety. The insurgents were said to have torched not less than 20 houses, including a branch of Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria EYN Church. President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned the gruesome murder of a five-year-old school girl, Hanifa Abubakar in Kano State by her teacher and other accomplices. Liberian President, George Manneh Weah, has declared a three-day National Mourning following the tragic loss of lives in a stampede in New Kru Town outside Monrovia. The incident took place during an open-air church service in the area Wednesday night, January 19, 2022 at a two-day power-packed crusade at the D. The National Universities Commission (NUC) says it is currently investigating to slam court actions against nine illegal universities, also known as degree mills, operating in the country. The commission said it would also prosecute the proprietors and recover illegal charges and fees paid by subscribers to the programmes offered by the illegal institutions.
