The Director-General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Salihu Mohammed Lukman, has resigned as the crisis rages over the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention. Our correspondent reports that Lukman resigned on Monday following a sharp division among the APC governors during their Sunday night meeting in Abuja. An Ado Ekiti High Court on Monday, January 17, sentenced Damilola Olasoji, dismissed soldier and Koiki Benson, to death by hanging for armed robbery. The court also sentenced Ogbesetuyi Tunde (30) and the two defendants to life imprisonment for offence of conspiracy and attempted robbery. Olasoji, 36,  Benson, 32, and Ogbesetuyi Tunde were accused of conspiring and robbing one Mr Oluwadare Adebayo of N1.2 million at a Filling Station in Odo-Ado, Ado Ekiti. The Federal High Court, Warri in Delta State Friday ordered a female lawyer, Anumati Stella Ojevwe, to be remanded in Correctional Centre, Sapele for alleged money laundering. The court presided by Justice Okon Abang ordered the defence counsel to file a formal bail application and adjourned the matter to January 31, 2022 for hearing. The Benin Zonal Command of the Economic Finance Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned the lawyer on a 14-count charge of money laundering. The Rivers State Police Command says it has set up a panel to investigate a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) accused of owning an illegal refinery in Rivers State.
