Jigawa State High Court in Kazaure sentenced a 70-year-old man to life imprisonment on Thursday, December 9, for defiling three girls. Alto Ado was arrested on October 14, 2020 for allegedly luring two minors aged seven and nine into an uncompleted building in Kazaure town and forcefully having unlawful sexual intercourse with them. Twenty university students in Bangladesh were Wednesday sentenced to death for the 2019 murder of a young man who criticised the government on social media. The battered body of Abrar Fahad, 21, was found in his dormitory hours after he wrote a Facebook post criticising Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for signing a water-sharing deal with India.
