Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has sentenced a 39-year-old pastor, to life imprisonment for defiling a 14-year-old girl. Justice Aniele, who is a pastor with the Assemblies of God, raped the girl, an orphan who was under his care and got her pregnant. Amid lingering supply disruptions, Libya has overtaken Nigeria as Africa’s top oil producer as the country’s crude oil production slumped last month. In a new report by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Nigeria’s oil output fell to about 1.23 million barrels per day in October from about 1.25 million bpd in the previous month. The Ontario government says it is helping to build tiny houses for homeless veterans. To this end, the province is investing $2 million in the Kingston-based project, and Housing Minister Steve Clark issued a special zoning order Wednesday allowing the site to be used for residential purposes without a long wait time. France will start building its 1st new nuclear reactors in decades as part of efforts to meet its promises to reduce planet-warming emissions, French President Emmanuel Macron announced.
