Zoom Video Communications Inc. announced on Monday, December 13 that it would begin to charge 7.5 percent value-added tax (VAT) on customers in Nigeria from January 1. Nigerian Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has cleared the air on the misconceptions surrounding payment of exact salaries and allowances to members of the National Assembly. Lawan stated this while giving a lecture at the maiden Distinguished Parliamentarians Lecture Series organised by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) on Monday December 13. Kaduna State Judicial Panel of Inquiry into Acts of Police Brutality and Other Related Abuses has asked Kaduna and Federal Governments to order the Police to release corpses of persons they deposited in the mortuary to relatives and petitioners for burial. A Northern governor from the North Central Region is under probe for allegedly withdrawing N60 billion in cash in six years, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed. EFCC Executive Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa said this was uncovered by the newly-created Department of Intelligence under his administration.
