A musician who praised a bandit leader popularly known as Bello Turji, in a song has incurred the wrath of Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. Consequently, Tambuwal has ordered the immediate arrest of the musician, Mohammed Danshawa. The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has x-rayed the challenges that would face the inclusion of mandatory direct primaries in the Electoral Act amendment bill. A female witness in the trial of Uduak Akpan, accused of allegedly killing job-seeker, Iniubong Umoren, told the court how the accused on December 5, 2020, lured her to his house with a fake job offer. Iniubong, a University of Uyo Philosophy graduate was allegedly killed by Akpan after luring her to his apartment with a fake job offer. National Judicial Council (NJC) has barred three judges from promotion for issuing conflicting ex parte orders, but promoted 63. The ex-parte orders were issued during the leadership crisis of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and on candidacy controversies ahead of the Anambra governorship election. Members of Nigeria Police Force are to smile following the review and upgrade of salaries of police personnel by 20 per cent, according to the Federal Executive Council (FEC). The Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, said this on Wednesday after the Federal Executive Council meeting which was chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari, at the newly renovated council chambers. According to the minister, the review exercise is expected to take effect from January 2022.
