The Nigerian government’s intervention has saved its citizens who were travelling to Nigeria via the Gnassigbe Eyadema International Airport, Togo. A video that went viral over the weekend showed the Nigerians being manhandled by some Togolese security agents. According to the travellers, they left the US en route to Nigeria and had to stop over in Togo for a connecting flight. A female soldier detained for using social media to violate the code of rules of Nigeria Army at the National Youth Service Corps orientation camp in Yikpata, Kwara State, has landed in trouble. An 18-year-old girl, Shatu Garko, who hails from Kano State, has emerged as the winner of the 2021 Miss Nigeria beauty pageant. Shatu Garko was a Hijab-wearing model before she was crowned the 44th Miss Nigeria. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has indicated its readiness to hold a nationwide protest on February 1, 2022 against Federal Government’s plan to remove fuel subsidy. The decision is contained in a communique issued on Friday in Abuja and signed by NLC President, Ayuba Wabba and General Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboaja, after the NEC meeting. Federal, states and local governments collected N675.946 billion from the Federation Allocation Account Committee (FAAC) for November on Friday. Mr Olajide Oshundun, acting Director, Information, Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning stated this on Saturday in Abuja.
