The bandits who kidnapped six persons from the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) staff quarters have reportedly contacted their families to demand a whopping N300 million ransom. Obansa Joseph, a professor of economics, two of his children, and three other persons were abducted on Tuesday, November 2, when gunmen attacked the staff quarters of the university. The pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and 22 of his workers are among those trapped in the rubble of the collapsed 21-storey building on Gerrard Road in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State. The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has set up a panel to probe what led to one of its students seen in a viral video twerking in a revealing bodysuit. The withdrawal was largely symbolic, as many of the company’s services were already blocked by China’s digital censorship. The deputy speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly, Amara Iwuanyanwu, has been impeached. Iwuanyanwu was impeached during plenary at the Assembly complex Tuesday, November 2. Ekene Nnodim, who represents Orlu State Constituency, submitted a resolution signed by 18 out of the 27 lawmakers for the removal of Iwuanyanwu as the Deputy Speaker. Speaker Paul Emezim, who presided over the plenary, approved the impeachment of Iwuanyanwu without reading the content of the resolution. The Assembly also recalled six suspended lawmakers.
