Suspected gunmen have freed more than 240 inmates from the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Kabba, Kogi State. Kabba Centre was established in 2008 with a capacity of 200 inmates. The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) spokesman, Mr Francis Enobore confirmed the incident in a press release on Monday, stating that the attack took place at about midnight on Sunday. The 75 pupils of Government Day Secondary School, Kaya, in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State abducted on September 1, 2021, have regained freedom. Amid the strike by resident doctors nationwide, the Chief Medical Officer of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, Abia State, has been reported dead. Dr Udo Orji Nnorom, a native of Nde Owuu in Arochukwu, Abia, reportedly died in the early hours of Sunday, September 12, after a brief illness. California lawmakers have unanimously voted to return a resort worth $72 million on Los Angeles’s Manhattan Beach to descendants of a wealthy black man.
