The West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE,  has released the 2025 results, showing a significant decline in performance by schools’ candidates. Out of the 1,969,313 candidates who sat for the examination, 754,545 candidates, representing 38.32%, obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. President Bola Tinubu has doled out another $100,000 (N150 million) to each of the players of the Nigeria Basketball team known as D’Tigress.  However, the coaches and technical crew members were given $50,000 (N75 million) each. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has given a 48-hour ultimatum to the Governor of Niger State, Umar Bago, to immediately reverse his decision to shut down Badeggi FM, a privately owned radio station based in Minna.
