Joint Task Force has nabbed 10 suspects over the killing of security operatives and burning of police facilities in the last few weeks in Akwa Ibom State. The JTF operatives while on routine operations arrested the suspects in Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. Gunmen have killed Senior Special Assistant to Benue Governor Samuel Ortom on Security, AIG Christopher Dega (retired) in Jos, Plateau State Capital. Gunmen on Monday invaded the residence of Professor Godswill Obioma, strangling him in what his wife suspected to be an assassination, People’s Gazette reported. “The assassins came in and killed him and left without taking anything,” Elizabeth Obioma told Peoples Gazette by telephone on Tuesday morning. Palpable fear has gripped the people of South East Region in Nigeria, following the declaration of a sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
