Governor Umo Eno, Monday, May 6, gave legal backing to the amended Akwa Ibom Independent Electoral Commission Law Cap 69 Bill recently passed into law by the State House of Assembly. AKISIEC is a legal umpire that conducts elections into the 31 local government councils in the state. With the amendment, the Akwa Ibom Independent Electoral Commission Law will update the electoral laws in the state. It will enhance efficiency in the electoral process at the grassroots level, provides legal backing and aligns the activities of AKISIEC in the conduct of local government elections. Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has sought Senator Godswill Akpabio’s intervention, in the realization of the Ibom Deep Seaport, Palm Oil Refinery, Petroleum Products Depot in the state. Eno made the call Friday, when Senate President, Akpabio paid him during a State Banquet for Akpabio and other visiting Senators at Government House, Uyo.
