Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has provided an emergency exit route to forestall outbreak of Ebola virus disease (EVD) in the country. NCDC tweeted ”Given the proximity of Guinea to Nigeria, as well as other indicators, Nigeria has been placed at moderate risk of an Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak.’’ ”The NCDC has an existing multi-sectoral National Emerging Viral Haemorrhagic Diseases Working Group (EVHDWG). The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum, Thursday, lashed at Sheik Gumi who called for amnesty for bandits whom he said are fighting against the injustices Nigeria has done to the North. The Nigerian military is currently carrying out airstrikes in Orlu, Imo State, thus heaping misery on the community. Some footage of the airstrikes shared online by residents of the area showed people being subjected to military actions. Super Eagles dropped one spot for February, according to rankings released by FIFA on Thursday, February 18. Eagles Nigeria’s senior national team coached by Gernot Rohr begins 2021 as the 36th best football playing country in the world. In the rankings Eagles accrued a total of 1474 points to remain as the fifth-best team on the continent behind Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi has come under verbal bombardment for asking Nigerians not to be cowards when attacked by bandits. The Minister, who addressed reporters on violent attacks in some parts of the country, said people should not be cowards as bandits sometimes possess few rounds of ammunition.
