The number of COVID-19 new cases in Akwa Ibom State in 24 hours has spiked to 52, the highest in one day, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. So far, the state has 667 Coronavirus confirmed cases, 236 persons have been admitted while 442 have been treated and discharged and nine persons had died. After a day in a well, a three-year-old boy thrown into it in Sapele, Delta State by a yet-to-be-identified woman has miraculously survived. The boy (name withheld) was rescued alive along Comprehensive Road in Amukpe area of Sapele Saturday night, January 16. The average price for refilling five kilogrammes cylinder of cooking gas climbed from N1,947.47 in November to N1,949.75 in December 2020, the National Bureau of Statistics reported on Saturday. The report was contained in its Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) Price Watch for December 2020 obtained from its website in Abuja. Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) registered 1,867 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 107,345.
