Suspected thieves specializing in vandalising electricity components have invaded and stolen 12 transformers in Akwa Ibom State. Menyene Etukudo, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Ibom Power Company Ltd, stated this Wednesday during Sensor dinner/award night at NUJ Press Centre, Uyo, said transformers in Ewet Housing Estate and other parts of the state were vandalized in three weeks. The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU), says it has called off its nine-month-old strike with effect 12 a.m on Thursday, December 24, .
