The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has shut three microfinance banks in Akwa Ibom State together with 39 others in the country. The banks are Akcofed MFB, Uyo; Gufax MFB, Uyo; and  Sapphire MFB, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State. The CBN has also withdrawn the operating licenses of 42 Microfinance Banks (MfBs), and the affected microfinance banks have been shut down. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has promoted 2,880 officers and marshals in Nigeria. The Corps Public Education Officer Assistant Corps Marshal, Mr Bisi Kazeem, who announced this on Sunday in Abuja said the FRSC approved the promotions following the consideration of a report by its establishment committee. The Federal Government has approved the first phase of Ibom Deep seaport in Nigeria’s Akwa Ibom put at $2.016 billion.
