Akwa Ibom State Nigeria Labour Congress has given the state government a 14-day ultimatum beginning Tuesday, October 27, saying failure of the government to accede to these demands will compel the congress to embark on an indefinite strike. The decision taken after State Executive Council meeting on Monday at the Workers Solidarity Centre, Atan Offot, Uyo listed 13 demands for implementation by the government. Imo State government has approved the release of N2 billion out of N6 billion to youths in the state to change their lives through empowerment of skills. In a Twitter handle on Monday night, NCDC said Lagos has 77 new cases, FCT-26, Plateau-9, Edo-4; Oyo-2 and Nasarawa-1. A 25-year-old automobile mechanic, Monday, who allegedly beheaded his five-year-old daughter in Gbongan, Osun State is on the run. The mechanic, Albert Olaposi Monday reportedly visited the residence of his mother and took away the deceased, Mercy. A man, who together with his wife achieved the Guinness World Record for the world’s oldest married couple, has died at the age of 110. Julio Cesar Mora Tapia died at his home in the Ecuadorian capital of Quito, at around 11p.m on October 22, leaving behind his 104-year-old wife who he married in 1941. Julio and his widow, 104-year-old Waldramina ‘Waldrita’ Maclovia Quinteros Reyes, achieved the Guinness World Record for the world’s oldest married couple in August 2020.
